Dear Members of the Loudoun County School Board, My name is [Name], and I have lived in Loudoun Valley Estates for [X] years. I am writing today to urge the board to accept our community’s donation of Parcel L, and to let you know that our neighborhood stands firmly behind you in this decision. Parcel L is not an abstract piece of property. It is where our children walk and bike to school every morning. It is where sports teams from Rosa Lee Carter and Rock Ridge practice and compete. It is the trails our families run on weekends, the green space where neighbors stop and talk on evening walks, the wooded corridor along Broad Run where teachers bring students for outdoor learning. People have lived their lives on and around this land for decades. It is the connective tissue between our schools and our neighborhood. We bought into this community because of what this land represents. We have maintained it, preserved it, and cared for it all this time — not because someone told us to, but because we understood what it was for. It was intended to be shared green space. It was intended to be part of what makes this neighborhood a place worth raising a family. We did not do all of that so it could be destroyed to serve private data center interests. We understand that accepting this donation means taking on stewardship responsibilities. We believe the Loudoun County School Board is exactly the right steward — a public institution accountable to the community, committed to the well-being of Loudoun County’s children, and capable of preserving this land for the long term. Under the proposed terms, LVE retains maintenance responsibility. The School Board takes title without taking on additional burden. Nothing changes about how the space is used today — it simply becomes permanently protected. The residents of Loudoun Valley Estates are not asking you to do something for us. We are asking you to do something with us — to be partners in protecting a piece of this community’s character that we all care about. We will support this decision publicly and we will be grateful for it for years to come. Please accept Loudoun Valley Estates’ donation of Parcel L. With appreciation for your service, [Your Name] [Address] (optional) Loudoun Valley Estates
